The Blog List

Time to start posting some links to other blogs in the writer’s blogosphere!  It’s the least I can do as I pester these people to either link to my blog or to review my book.  I will be updating this post regularly and see if I can’t set a permanent link on the side of the page here…

Let’s begin!

Rachie Harrie  “My Writers’ Platform-Building Campaigns are a way to link writers, aspiring authors, beginner bloggers, industry people, and published authors together with the aim of helping to build our online platforms. The Campaigners are all people in a similar position, who genuinely want to pay it forward, make connections and friends within the writing community, and help build each others’ online platforms while at the same time building theirs.”  This is a huge database of blogs, all with people who voluntarily joined.  Blog writers selected their own subject areas, so it’s a great, great resource for people to check out!  Third Writers’ Platform-Building Campaign.

“I was born in San Diego. I’ve lived in Chicago, Denver, Florida, Kentucky, Texas, Georgia, Alabama, and South Carolina.  Mother always said there was a touch of gypsy in the blood. I write science fiction and SFR in a variety of forms. Sometimes I dabble in comic fantasy. What else is there to say?”  And Liana Brooks is the woman who recently broke my heart! :*(  I still recommend her and her socks!  Visit: Liana Brooks

“If you’re reading this, I can’t express how thankful I am that you’ve chosen to investigate my world of  books. I’m the author of Reunion, a supernatural thriller, Killing the Giants, a political thriller and The Rumblin’, a short suspense. I live in Central Indiana with my wife, four children and two stray cats. I obsess over details, dream strange dreams and teach a creative writing course for a homeschool co-op. Look for my upcoming paranormal thriller, Twisted Vengeance, coming in late 2011.”  The Writing Bomb by Jeff Bennington and also The Kindle Book Review.

“I’m a late bloomer when it comes to writing. Being born with dyslexia gave me a serious aversion to the written word. I didn’t even learn to read with any proficiency until my mid twenties when I discovered romance novels were worth the effort. I’ve been reading and writing ever since.”  She also has good tips on writing and writing tools.  Visit Julie Ortolon at her blog or her website

“All I can say about my blog, is that it all started with Twilight! After reading Twilight I started to read more and more. Sofia and I used to constantly talk about books. We are totally book obsessed! And then one day, we were both on the computer and BAM …we decided to write a blog.  Gripped into Books. It’s not exactly rhe best blog name but we were so excited to make a blog we never really cared about the name. Though, I really do think I should change it but I’m not really about it much!  This blog started from October 2010 and so far so good.”  Gripped into Books by Mina (or Mia for short)

“Welcome to my blog! My name is NC and I am an avid reader.  I am a Christian, married to my awesome husband and mom to two precocious boys. I love books and read mostly young adult fiction. My favorite genres are paranormal romance and dystopia.  I started Truly Bookish so I could recommend the books that I love to all of those who are interested. We are blessed to live in (mostly) sunny and (usually) warm South Florida.” A Truly Bookish Floridian!

From Janice Foy at Unreality: “I don’t have a review policy yet. I buy A LOT of books, especially eBooks, and if the writing touches me I’ll write a review. If you would like me to review your book please send me an email. I want to support as many YA small press and indie authors as I can. “  Her landing page is one the best I’ve seen and I’m seriously thinking of stealing it…

Book Faery is a paranormal book review blog that Tori created back in February 2010. This blog’s purpose is to not only provide book reviews for a variety of genres, but to also share information on new and upcoming books, host interviews and guest posts by the authors who wrote said books, and to also host as many giveaways as possible. Because really… who doesn’t love free stuff and discovering new authors?

“Reading has always been one of my greatest loves, though sometimes its hard to find the time to do it between going to school full time, and working part time at Old Navy.  I’ll read almost any genre, though I tend to read a lot of horror and fantasy.  I also tend to stay away from most raunchy romance.  I have an ENORMOUS pile of books to be read.  This blog is just my way to help keep up with what I’ve read and my thoughts on each of them.  Hopefully, they can be of use to other people as well. “  Leighanne at Leighanne’s Lit

Kurt Hartwig, “I write young adult fiction (many of the reasons can be summarized here), which is also what I enjoy reading by and large.

I have an MA and a PhD in Folklore from Indiana University where I minored in Performance Studies and Slavic Languages and Literature – all of which was great for a dissertation that focused on the role of theater in the Czech Republic (Czechoslovakia) as well as, to a lesser extent, how mimesis functions.” Everyday Performance

“I started telling stories so that I could entice my cousins and neighborhood kids to go on adventures with me. It worked beautifully! In my teens, I was a terrible student who wrote like a maniac. I would have my friends design characters and then I would weave them into stories. Those were almost never finished, but there were a few that I wish I still had.

My first book titled Voodoo Dues is available now. I’m working on the follow-up, titled Vampire Blues. I don’t have a definite release date but I’m aiming for late October/early November of 2011. Until then, you can follow me on Twitter, like me on Facebook, or subscribe to my blog to get updates as the release draws near!” Check out Stephany Simmons at her Urban Fantasy & Paranormal Fiction website!

Mari Miniatt writes Urban fantasy.  Her books deal with fantasy and mythological creatures in the modern environment. It can be horrific. But I am more interested in how these beings and creatures have adapted to our modern life. How do they interact with humans? How do they move in a city full of people? She’s also a blogger and reviewer!

“As you may have guessed, my name is Meredith Mansfield.

I am currently caregiver for my elderly mother who has Alzheimer’s disease.  That is a story in itself, and might end up being the subject of one or more blogs some day.    But for now, the important thing is that this gave me the opportunity to get reacquainted with an old love of mine that I had been separated from by the demands of real life–writing.  And that’s mostly what this blog will be about.”  Meredith Mansfield’s Blog

PROPOSAL Dear reader, I have an idea that I’d like to try and implement that could potentially benefit all of us. It is simple, free (almost, initially pay a couple bucks, but get it back once your book is bought, and more), legal, however will require a small time commitment.  Author’s Circle

Tameri Etherton  To say I wish I was born a faerie princess with magical powers is an understatement. The fact that I’m a mortal is my everlasting curse. Perhaps that’s why I write fantasy. Everyday I get to delve into worlds of mystery and beauty. I can become the sorceress of my dreams or the villain of my nightmares. Being able to create worlds and creatures from my imagination is a marvelous thing.  A Cup of Tea and Sorcery (Great blog name!)
